In 2017 the SEC was the first conference to get two teams into the Playoff, and Alabama made it the first to win it twice. Alabama remains the albatross of the SEC, but Auburn looks very good again and Georgia under Kirby Smart has gathered a lot of talent. New coaches at Florida (Mullen), Tennessee (Pruitt), and Texas A&M (Fisher) look to turn around programs with talent.
